Adavanced Hoof Care Classes

These classes are for students that have already taken an Intro class or have professional experience

trimming horses.

 

Classes start at 9:00am and end around 5:00Pm

 

We will begin with hoof dissection, studying parts and discussing what has been seen in the field.

 

 

After thorough study of the hoof we will watch footage of blood flow in the shod vs. unshod hoof.

 

We will view various x-rays and discuss coffin bone position and bone alignment.

 

We will break for lunch.

 

After Lunch we will work on live horses.

 

 

• Watching a horse move (what does it mean?)

 

• Proper trim

 

 

Natural handling skills for unruly horses

 

• Booting

 

• Other ways to help horses transition.

 

Fee for this class is $250.00
